Hoosier Star Student Media Evaluation Service

The Indiana High School Press Association hopes staffs will take advantage of the Hoosier Star Evaluation Service and accompanying guidebooks to enhance the overall quality of their respective student media outlet. Students and their advisers are encouraged to utilize these educational tools during planning sessions and production cycles throughout the school year to set high standards for their journalism program and better serve their audience.

 

Entry Options

All submissions are eligible for the Hoosier Star Award. Work is evaluated by a judge who has completed the JEA critique training.

• Abbreviated (members: $30 • non-members: $55) — content rankings ONLY, does not include detailed feedback

• Full (members: $50 • non-members: $75) — content rankings, detailed feedback, outlined strategies for success

Hoosier Star Award

Submissions earning an overall rating of “superior” or “excellent” are finalists for the Hoosier Star Award. All finalists are recognized, and the winners announced, during the January state convention at Franklin College. Click here for event dates and information.
