The Indiana High School Press Association is proud to announce the finalists for the 2023 Rowen Harvey competition and yearbook Hoosier Star Award. Winners of these honors will be revealed Friday, Jan. 27 during the featured session of the 2023 IHSPA state convention at Franklin College.
ROWENA HARVEY AWARD FINALISTS
The Rowena Harvey Award competition is held annually and celebrates outstanding individual and staff achievements in responsible, effective journalism. The 2023 winners have earned the top honors out of nearly 600 submissions of student journalism.

IHSPA provides this opportunity for annual critique as a way for staffs to gain detailed feedback about their publication. All student media outlets achieving a “superior” or “excellent” ranking based on these guidebooks are considered finalists. Winners of the Hoosier Star Award are selected in a second evaluation by a judge who was not involved in the initial round of critiques.
