Award winners receive Pacers experience

The top four winners in the first semester sports writing and photography competition had a different opportunity than intended when they traveled to Indianapolis for a Pacers practice/interview with professional media.

Everyone was in route or had arrived before we learned that practice had been cancelled.

David Benner,  Pacers Director of Media Relations, saved the day by arranging for an interview with Coach Frank Vogel and

Although it was disappointing to miss the actual practice, the students had the chance to regroup and find a different story,

a typical journalism challenge.

Students did a great job rethinking questions and finding new angles to pursue. Their stories will be posted on the website after they publish for their papers.

Many thanks to David Benner, Coach Vogel and Luis Scola for going the extra mile to provide a professional experience for IHSPA students.
